The “straitsof Bonifacio” between Corsica and Sardinia often have a strong influence wind; so challenging sailing for experienced sailors is guaranteed. Periods of brisk westerly winds add excitement, some swell on thewest coasts, and strong winds between the islands and past the North Cape (Cape Corse). The whole area is very busy in peak season.
The east coast of Corsica is somewhat more lovely and flatter. The west coast of Corsica is rather wild, with steeply rising coastsand interspersed with protected bays and ports. On clear days you can sail to the islands of Elba and Capraia.
A visit to Bonifacio on the southern tip of Corsica, should not be missed in your schedule. Enjoy the unique flair of Bastia in a small street café, whose history dates back to the 15th century. A tour through the inlandof the French island is highly recommended.
